Before Christmas, Tom Smith shot quite a famous artist’s cat with a water pistol. The artist got really upset even after Tom explained their cat was peeing in his garden, and that was his territory. In a series of interweaving, autobiographical and humorous anecdotes, Tom Smith explores instances of perceived encroachment of one artist’s practice on another.

About the artist
Tom Smith is an artist based in London working across sculpture, video and performance. His practice touches on subjects such as nostalgia, spectatorship, stagecraft, and liveness. Tom recently completed Syllabus II, a national peer-led learning programme for artists.
